Today, I Still Expect Jesus

When I gave my heart to know wisdom and to see the task which has been done on the earth (even though one should never sleep day or night), and I saw every work of God, I concluded that man cannot discover the work which has been done under the sun.  Even though man should seek laboriously, he will not discover; and though the wise man should say, “I know.” he cannot discover.

-Ecclesiastes 8:16-17

It has been exactly a year ago when I wrote this poem for our AIM trip’s assignment. Change-of-plans did happen and my year turned out to be so much more amazing than I thought it would be. Our trip with AIM was cancelled but now I know it’s because God wanted me in Ellerslie. I am so glad that God is in Sovereign Control of everything. It was also on this same day last year when I “met” Kait Montgomery who was supposed to be my teammate for the Novas Project. I just found out 3 days ago that she will be in Ellerslie in about 2 weeks for the Fall Training! God’s ways are always so good but are often incomprehensible. Oh Father, thank you for giving us grace to trust you more.

I expect to be in-control when plans AND change-of-plans happen
I expect to be my strength when there’s no strength left in me anymore
I expect to jump into the unknown and explore His beauty.
I expect to see His faithfulness, His mercy and His grace more beautiful than yesterday.
I expect to witness the power of God through the gospel that saves souls.
I expect to be saturated with prayer, devotion and fellowship.
I expect to build lasting relationships and a God-centered family.
I expect to hold on, preach on and be faithful to The One and ONLY Truth.
I expect to be taught to have rest [in Him],
to rejoice
and to trust, and trust
and trust some more.
